  • JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the direct supervision of the Branch Director the Youth Development Professional will implement, collect data on outcome driven goals, drive Club vehicles, make purchases and recommend future programs implemented during program hours.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Safety: Promotes the safety of members. Communicate safety concerns in a timely fashion for both external and internal. Adhere to child safety laws and the Club’s child safety policies.

    2. Guidance: Provides guidance, program support and role modeling to members and other staff. Support members and families going through transitions.

    3. Planning: Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates programs with outcome driven goals. Plans, implements and evaluates a wide variety of events. Collects data and researches current trends and makes recommendations for activities, events and programs for upcoming program cycle.

    4. Participation & Orientation: Recruits new members and volunteers. Participates in school functions, Club fundraisers, program events and staff meetings.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Special Programs: May participate in collaborative partner events.

    2. Driving: Will be required to drive Club vehicles.

    3. Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as requested by the Executive Director, Associate Executive Director, Resource Development Director or Office Manager.

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professionals and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

    External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems and disseminating information.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

    • High School graduate and higher education coursework

    • Experience in working with children, running programs and activities

    • Knowledge of youth development strategies

    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems

    • Conflict resolution skills

    • Communication skills and how to deal with the general public

    • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth

    • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

    • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications

    • Mandatory valid driver’s license and clear driving record

    2. Guidance: Provides guidance, program support and role modeling to members and other staff.

    3. Planning: Implements designated structured activities along with making sure members are engaged and learning.

    4. Participation & Orientation: Recruits new members and volunteers. Participates in school functions, Club fundraisers, program events and staff meetings.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Special Programs: May participate in collaborative partner events.
